Scotland’s first ladies league?

05 September 2008

Following on from last seasons success of the “Pink Rink” ladies floorball events, the organisers are aiming one step further this season and attempting to set up Scotlands first ladies floorball “mini-league”. The mini-league so far has three teams confirmed. Two Northern league clubs, the Aberdeen Oilers and Balwearie, plus St Andrews will be entering a ladies team. The league will be played in a format know as the “swiss-variant, 3 vs 3 plus keepers on a 20 x 10m rink. The format was highly successful in Switzerland (now a floorball giant) back in the day when floorball was growing over there and organizers hope they can achieve a similar effect with the 3s version in Scotland.
