Play-Off Cup date announced

18 May 2009

The ladies will play-off cup will be held on March 23rd at FIPRE, Glenrothes (10am – 1:30pm). The fixtures are as follows:

10:15 - Semi-Final 1: Glenrothes vs Balwearie
11:00 - Semi-Final 2: St Andrews vs Aberdeen
11:45 - 3rd place play-off: Runner-up SF1 vs Runner-up SF2
12:30 - Final: Winner SF1 vs Winner SF2

Ladies Floorball DVD

The action of tournament 2 was filmed and has been edited into a 20 minute promo DVD by two local professionals, providing a great snapshot of this years ladies floorball action and some really entertaining viewing.

Glenrothes crowned Scotland’s first ladies league winners!

In the third and final round of the ladies league, the race for league positions was still on and again with the games being very closely fought, the competiveness reached a new level in the ladies games.
The scores for the day were:
Aberdeen 1 – Balwearie 2
Glenrothes 4 – St Andrews 2
St Andrews 2 – Aberdeen 0
Balwearie 3 – Glenrothes 3

A great day of exciting floorball ended with Glenrothes being crowned Scotland’s first ever ladies league winners after a hard-earned win against St Andrews and a draw against Balwearie. Congratulations!

Glenrothes pull ahead

28 January 2009

The second ladies league round took place on Saturday January 24th. In another exciting day for ladies floorball, one close match was played after another. The St Andrews Hot Sox suffered a first narrow defeat against Glenrothes, but managed to hold onto their lead against Balwearie. Balwearie had previously gained their first point by equalising against Aberdeen in the dying minutes of the game. Aberdeen lead both against Balwearie and Glenrothes but after drawing with Balwearie, then lost out to Glenrothes only 30 seconds before the final whistle. Glenrothes worked hard to win both their matches, gaining 6 points and moving to the top of the league table
The scores were as follows:
Glenrothes 4 – St Andrews 3
Balwearie 4 – Aberdeen 4
Aberdeen 3 – Glenrothes 4
St Andrews 5 – Balwearie 3

The ladies league got off to a great start at the weekend with the good news that Glenrothes pulled off a team at the last minute, making it a 4 team challenge for the title. Fixtures were adapted from those published below and the scores from the games were as follows:

St Andrews 7 – Balwearie 1
Aberdeen 3 – Glenrothes 1
Glenrothes 6 – Balwearie 3
St Andrews 1 – Aberdeen 1
